One of our favorite places in the Triangle Area is Honeysuckle Tea House. Ever since we were first introduced to this place, we were hooked. Now that we live farther away, we don’t visit as much as we would like to, but it is a must place to go when we have visitors in town.
This tea house looks like a tree house, tucked away and secluded in Chapel Hill. It’s an open-air structure, so it is perfect on summer nights to hang out and relax while listening to live music. And best of all, it is kid friendly!! It has a playground, sandbox and hammock garden. You don’t have to worry about your child running around and getting stinky, judging eyes from other customers. Emma especially LOVES walking through their herb garden where you can see all the herbs they grow for their teas.
If you aren’t a tea person, like my husband, don’t fret! They also have delicious coffee (those fancy French press ones), beer (my husband’s drink of choice), fruit smoothies (perfect for kiddos), and many more beverages. During our most recent visit, they were also selling Locopops, local paletas vendor in Durham. Needlessly to say, we love this place and we had a great time when our friends visited from Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend. We walked through their farm fields, played in the playground and even played disc golf. Emma was obsessed with disc golf until she accidentally got hit on the head by one of the discs. Of course, Locopops fixed that right away. 😉 If you are local or visiting from out of town, definitely check out this place out. You won’t regret it!
