How is everyone doing with back-to-school preparation and/or adjusting to the new school year? Em is in year-round school since she is still in Pre-K, but today marks the first day of her new academic year! While she was never out of school for summer break, she’s been on a summer academic schedule. Therefore, I had to commemorate the official first day of Pre-K with pictures! I told her she will be starting her new academic year. And even though the classroom and teachers would be the same, today marks the first day of the new school year. Of course, Em being 3 years old, didn’t quite understand the concept. But nonetheless, she was super proud and excited to hold up her chalkboard and smile for the camera. That’s my girl!
It’s always bittersweet when another milestone comes around. It takes a piece of your baby and replaces it with maturity. We see it flash before our eyes and it leaves a tinge of sadness in our hearts. But at the same time, it is so amazing to see your baby grow into a beautiful and intelligent child, miss/mister independent. I am constantly battling the balance of letting them go and reeling them in. At age (almost) 3 years old, it’s a tough balance. They can seem like a hopeless baby one second but a moment later they are capable of taking on the world. I still can’t believe my 6 lbs 14 oz itty bitty pumpkin is going to be 3 years old soon! And you better believe she is ready to take on the world, so much personality in this 30 lbs little lady. I will be holding her a little tighter today and soaking up all the baby feels. Happy new school year, everyone!
